Healthy and developmental populations are included when cognition is assessed. Pressure, oxygen concentration, timing and accompanying drugs or rehabilitation are recorded where stated in the abstract. Some studies compare low pressure air exposure; oxygen concentrations differ between conditions.

Frequently asked questions

How many papers directly studied people?

There are 337 human original studies. Counts refer to papers and may include follow up reports from the same participants or overlap with reviews.

Which populations and methods are distinguished?

Each entry identifies traumatic injury, ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke, degenerative conditions, carbon monoxide or hypoxic injury, or other cognitive populations. Healthy and developmental populations are included when cognition is assessed. Pressure, oxygen concentration, timing and accompanying drugs or rehabilitation are recorded where stated in the abstract. Some studies compare low pressure air exposure; oxygen concentrations differ between conditions.

Which publication years are included?

Human studies have no lower publication year limit through the checked date. Animal and cell studies start in 2024, including 31 animal studies and 2 cell only studies.
